Structure of DC Brushless Cooling Fans


It can be mainly divided into four major parts, rotor, stator, frame, and motor, along with some other miscellaneous components.


First, the fan rotor part


Includes fan blades, the core for generating airflow; the axis of the cooling fan, used to support and balance the rotation of the blades; rotor magnetic rings, permanent magnets key to switching rotational speed; and the magnetic ring outer frame to fix the magnetic ring.


Second, the fan stator part


Includes supporting springs that separate the bearings to balance the axis; bearings providing high-speed, low-friction, long-life rotation; retaining rings to fix and combine the rotating components; and the motor part which determines the rotation direction and speed.


Third, the outer frame of the cooling fan


Serves the purpose of supporting the fan motor and guiding the airflow.


Fourth, the motor part of the fan


Includes a circuit board that controls energy consumption and signal input/output, silicon steel sheets (i.e., stator magnets with wound coils) generating magnetic field switching, and silicon steel sheet upper and lower covers for fixing and insulation.
